Project Goals / Project Description This research was conducted in collaboration with Thoughtful Content & Research Your Way to help Lymphoma Action gain insight to achieving funding to develop digital services that will meet the needs of people with lymphoma experiencing health inequalities. The project focused on evidencing who and why is or is not accessing Lymphoma Action’s services, assessing the lymphoma communities’ needs, perceptions, and experiences, with a particular focus on health inequalities they may be experiencing and possible digital solutions.Project Flow / Approach
Findings / Outcome The research shows that those affected by lymphoma, and their loved ones, have a variety of support needs, including psychological support, information needs, and help with navigating the services that are already available to them. As for the digital intervention, they should increase the accessibility for peer support, connecting with other people with lymphoma and hearing about their experiences and tips for coping. Digital interventions should be particularly aimed at those who may lack family support. ImpactThe findings helped Lymphoma Actions better understand the current situation around lymphoma in the UK and gain insights on the needs and experiences of a self-selecting group of people affected by lymphoma. Based on the findings, Lymphoma Actions was given a set of recommendations to develop a number of digital interventions to support people having this disease.
